Craving a unique night out with my girlfriends, we booked a reservation at Jazz Tastings in Maitland, Florida. It was a Tuesday – open mic night! – and my former co-worker invited me out for a birthday celebration so I got a chance to check it out. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, just another night out. But wow, was I wrong! This place truly surprised me.

Live Music with a Twist: Open Mic Night at Jazz Tastings

The live music was phenomenal! Imagine our surprise when we discovered it was actually open mic night. Up-and-coming performers and singers took the stage, and the atmosphere crackled with energy. My friends even got swept up in the moment and belted out some Adele and Rihanna.

We’re used to our usual karaoke bar, but Jazz Tastings took the experience to a whole new level of sophistication. Singing along with a live jazz band? How incredibly fun is that! Even if you’re cool with being a spectator, like myself, the entertainment value is top-notch.

Delicious Bites and Half-Priced Fun

And let’s not forget the food! We started off with sharing the calamari, kale salad, lobster ravioli, and crabcake. Everything was absolutely delicious – a true testament to their scratch kitchen. The only exception might be the crabcake, which leaned a bit spicy and mushy for my taste.

Despite that minor misstep, the rest of the meal was a knockout. I regret not snapping photos of our spread, but it definitely makes me want to return and try out some of the menu items that caught my eye.

But the fun didn’t stop there! Since it was Tuesday, we scored amazing deals – 1/2 off appetizers from 5:30 pm-7:00 pm, 1/2 off bottles of wine, and $15 burgers and brew (all night)! It was the perfect way to unwind, enjoy the music, and savor the delicious food.
