Cocktails and Dessert to Try at Universal’s CityWalk (2021)

Whenever a friend from out of town visits me in Orlando, I like to bring them to Universal’s City Walk. If you have never been to Universal CityWalk before, it’s basically a colorful and lively district with a variety of entertainment, restaurants, and shops. Also, it’s the gateway to get into Universal Orlando Theme Parks like Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Another cool thing is most of Universal Orlando Hotels bigger hotels are connected so you can easily walk from your resort or take a water taxi. The hotels that aren’t connected, Universal’s Adventure, Universal’s Endless Summer Resorts: Dockside Inn and Surfside Inn & Suites, and Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort, all have complimentary shuttle buses available for transportation to CityWalk.

Here’s a tip, Standard Parking is $26 per car but FREE after 6pm

One of my photographer friends, Shelby (@sprphotography) recently moved to the area! And what better way to reunite than a fun day grabbing cocktails and lunch. Shelby has taken many photos of me in the past including photos at Universal Studios! First, we grabbed drinks at the outdoor Margaritaville bar. We didn’t get to the area until 3pm so it was a tad bit late for us to go inside the actual themeparks.

At Margaritaville, we grabbed two cocktails. I had the Watermelon Agave Fresca (200/220 cal.), which was about $13.00.

This cocktail included: Margaritaville Silver Tequila, watermelon purée, agave nectar, fresh lime juice, and our housemade sweet & sour. Topped with soda water. This is the most refreshing drink for a warm day! Especially, if you’re a big fan of watermelon.

Here’s a tip, since we are there on a Monday, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure closed earlier. Therefore, you’ll want to keep this in mind for anyone visiting during the weekdays!

So instead, we decided to take photos around the area!

In case you need more info, Universal CityWalk is taking many safety measures to comply with CDC recommendations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. For more details, make sure to visit their website. Or click the link here: https://www.universalorlando.com/web/en/us/plan-your-visit/safety-faqs

Here’s a tip, find this perfectly pink photo spot at Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food™. Additionally, they have other colorful walls there as well!

Even better, We actually had lunch here! If we had to recommend anything, definitely order the Queso Fundido appetizer + the Blood Orange Margarita! So delicious! And if you’re feeling extra fancy, go for table side guac! What’s really cool is the decor! It’s very industrial modern yet super colorful. Most importantly, the food is amazing.

For something sweet, we had the Red Velvet Milkshake at The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen™. In this dessert, you can expect Vanilla ice cream, Red Velvet cupcake, raspberry sauce, rainbow sprinkles. As well as, fresh whipped cream, and a cherry on top. This milkshake retails at $14. Although it’s pricey, the cupcake was super moist (haha sorry, I had to say it).

Overall, it’s so worth it! So good!

Even though we had a short afternoon, a day at Universal’s CityWalk is always a fun adventure! Are you ready for a day at Universal?! For tickets to Universal Studios, check out their website for details!
