Copal Tulum Hotel

Price: $90/$200/per night
Copal Tulum is located in the growing neighborhood of Aldea Zama. At first glance, this hotel is beautiful. I love the use of hanging plants and all the greenery. It does give a sense of relaxation and peace. Pretty much exactly what you want from vacation. The star of the show are the rooms. Our room in particular was so spacious. They’re actually more like apartments. The kitchen had a stove, a huge refrigerator plus a stove and cooking tools and utensils. Similar to what you would find at a an extended stay. While the food isn’t complimentary, the food is amazing! I loved walking through the property. It’s like roaming a jungle fairytale.
Some cons is that the staff wasn’t the most personable. Sometimes they looked over whelmed. Although, I loved the feature of texting the staff on WhatsApp. I was able to order food from the restaurant, as well as book an appointment with a doctor to visit my room for a COVID-19 test.
Would I stay here again? Probably not. The location is far and you’ll find yourself winding through roundabout and more roundabouts just to get to the main road to get to the hotel zone.
Zendero Tulum Hotel
Address: Calle Venus Oriente super manzana 27 Lote 2 entre Av. Coba, Escorpión Sur y, Tulum, Q.R., Mexico

Rate: $60-$90/per night
zendero is a great place to stay in Tulum. This hotel is situated in the town center, and it offers guests a mix of modern and traditional Mexican architecture. The rooms are spacious and airy, and they come with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Zendero also has an on-site restaurant that serves up amazing food. I stayed there during my first trip to Tulum in 2018 and thought loved how comfortable yet affordable the hotel was. Plus having breakfast with their staff was such a treat. They were so warm and hospitable. The hotel also offers complimentary bike rentals. Only thing is that you’ll need to reserve or you can lose your chances. A bike ride will take about 20 minutes to the beach.
The one downside of Zendero is that it’s far from luxurious. The customer service is alright. And you won’t find an elevator on the property so imagine lugging your heavy suitcases to the top floor. Also, the location is great is you are looking forward to spending some of your vacation visiting the town center of Tulum and then the beach. The town is a short walk away while the beach is about a 10-15 minute Taxi Drive. And if you’ve never been to Tulum before, then warning: the Taxi are known to really hike up the rates. Also, there is a lot of construction on the main strip that the hotel is located. Going to Tulum in 2018 and then going again in 2022, the construction is still present.
The Beach Zone
The beach zone of Tulum is a beautiful place to visit. With its sparkling turquoise waters and white sand beaches, it’s no wonder that this area is a popular tourist destination. However, there’s more to the beach zone of Tulum than just its looks. This area is also home to a variety of businesses and activities, making it a great place to spend a day or two. From gorgeous restaurants and bars to shops and tour operators, there’s something for everyone in the beach zone of Tulum. So whether you’re looking to relax on the beach or explore everything that this area has to offer, you’ll be sure to find what you’re looking for.

Personally, I’ve only stayed at one hotel off the Tulum Beach Strip, which was aThe Kore Tulum Retreat & Spa Resort is the only Adults Only All-Inclusive boutique hotel in Tulum. It is perfect for couples and adults who are looking for the perfect holiday in Mexico. With spacious suites with an outdoor Jacuzzi, the resort is in a stunning location in front of the sea. It really does give the perfect ambiance for relaxing and resting. Plus you can enjoy the all-Inclusive service, you’ll be able to have the best time relaxing! And while it feels exclusive and has a romantic vibe, it also feels a bit outdated. But nonetheless, still beautiful. So make sure to do some research to see if Kore Tulum is right for you!

La Zebra hotel in Tulum is the perfect place to stay for those who want to enjoy the bohemian spirit of the town while also being eco-friendly. The hotel is right on the beach, so you can enjoy the sound and smell of the waves crashing against the shore. You can also walk to many of the best restaurants and bars in town. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and they will make sure you have everything you need during your stay. La Zebra is also committed to being eco-friendly. Staying at La Zebra is an ideal way to immerse yourself in the bohemian spirit of Tulum.
La Zebra is apart of a group of hotels from the Colibri Boutique Hotels group. And from extensive research, it seems as if their hotels have the best ratings online and best standards. Another one of their hotels I’ve been considering is Mi Amor.
When planning a trip to Tulum, it’s important to do your research before booking a hotel. While there are many beautiful and luxurious hotels in the area, some don’t have air conditioning and could be quite loud, due to the festivals and beach parties that are often held there. By reading reviews from other travelers, you can get a better idea of what to expect from each hotel and make sure that you book a stay that best suits your needs. That way, you can relax and enjoy your time in Tulum. I’m so excited to go back and visit and I hope this post was helpful in planning your upcoming vacation to the Riviera Maya.
