Daily Morning Routine for a Positive Day
Good Morning Everyone! Today, I wanted to share with you my morning routine. Also, quick note, I do not do this morning routine everyday but I do aim to make it a habit. Whenever I complete this routine, I feel my best and I feel like I can take on the rest of my day!
Brush My Teeth
This sounds like a no brainer. But I never feel like I’m awake until my mouth feels minty fresh. Otherwise, I’m just a grouchy grumpy mess all morning!
Drink Water
This is a new habit I started. It’s so important to get some hydration in you when you first wake up. This is because we tend to lose water by breathing deeply in our sleep. Plus getting a few sips of water in is amazing for energizing the body naturally.
Make Coffee
While water is great, I always need to have a cup of coffee. (as a matter of fact, I usually need two!) A cup of coffee for me is very comforting and something I look forward to every time I wake up!
Unload the Dish Washer and Make Sure the House is Tidy
There is nothing more annoying than having laundry to fold. Or staring at dishes in the sink. So I like to make it a habit in my nightly routine to make sure the house is cleaned and organized. That way in the morning, all I need to do is unload the dishwasher for the night before. Now, this sounds like an easy habit but Jeff and I are night owls. This means we spend a lot of our time lounging, snacking, and making a complete disaster in our house. It’s just natural for us! So when I wake up in the morning, I like to make sure everything is in its place because you don’t want to be around me when things are out of control! It’s not cute!
Drink Coffee While Meditating
Once I finish unloading the dishes, usually my coffee is done brewing. From there, I will take my coffee out onto my patio or into my living room and start practicing meditation. Meditation is a great way for me to clear my mind and start focusing on myself without any distractions. This practice has been a huge part of my journey into self-love and self-worth. I usually like to mediate for about 5-15 minutes.
Find 3 Things to be Grateful For
From there, I like to write into my journal at least 3 things I am grateful for. This habit is amazing because it teaches so much self-awareness and positivity. Most of us can wake up on the wrong side of the bed, but once we realize that there are so many great things within and around us, we can start to bring in more good energy. I’ll even write little things like the sun shining through my window, or my boyfriend making the bed for once in a blue moon. Whatever it is to put a little smile on.
Go for a Morning Run at Least 3 Miles.
I have been a runner on and off for about 3 years and nothing makes me feel more energized than a good morning run! At this time, I like to put on a productive podcast or some hype music to get me going. I aim for 3 miles which takes me about 40 minutes, anything longer than I am just walking around and wasting time since I haven’t been able to run 4 miles straight for years.
Shower and Get Dressed for the morning. This includes Makeup
Once I get back, i like to shower and get ready for the day. My day always feel better when I have on a bit of makeup. For a woman that embraces her femininity, putting on makeup helps me express myself and make me feel more alive!
Have a Light Lunch or Morning breakfast
At this point, my fasted cardio will make me get really hangry. If I’m in a crunch, I’ll have a smoothie. My new obsession is with Revive Superfoods, ready-to-be-blend smoothies. All you need to do is add your favorite liquid, like soy, almond, oat milk or water, and blend! It’s super-fast, convenient, and nutritious! My current favorite is the Morning mocha since I am a sucker for anything coffee flavor.

Get to Work!
At this time, I’ll start getting ready for photoshoots, video shoots, or get to emails and editing!
And that’s it! Okay, okay! I’m sure that all sounds like a lot but I’ve been implementing these habits since 2018 and I’ve seen a significant difference in my mood and health. Especially when I don’t complete these habits. Something will always get in the way of life, but when we are prepared, we can take on the challenge!
